Welcome to Plummer Elementary! My name is Laura Collins and I am the Transitional Kindergarten teacher here at Plummer. I have taught TK for the last 4 years and look forward to preparing the Transitional Kinder students this year for their careers as lifetime learners.
I studied at The University of California, Berkeley and went on to earn my teaching credential through the Los Angeles District Intern program in 2001.
The learning at this young age happens at an exponential rate and the joy that my students gain in realizing their ability TO learn is what I enjoy the most. As my students learn the important foundational skills of working and relating to the peers and adults in their lives, we will also learn to express ourselves orally and in writing, even as we are learning our letters in preparation to read.
